Information

Ouzoud translates to 'Olive' in Berber. This day trip will take you through the High Atlas and Morocco’s famous olive groves to experience Ouzoud Waterfalls; one of Morocco’s natural wonders with a permanent rainbow in the backdrop. The waterfalls run through the El Abid River and rushes through a red rock gorge. Enjoy a swim by the falls or take a relaxing boat trip along the trip. Ouzoud is a popular place for day hikes, picnics, and travelers who want to immerse in a bit of nature amidst the hustle and bustle of a Moroccan city.

Our day tour from Marrakech to Ouzoud waterfalls will start with a pick-up at your hotel or riad, followed by a 2.5-hour drive north of Marrakech towards the High Atlas by crossing the Tadla plains dotted with hundreds of olive tree farms. Upon arrival at the village, start your walking journey downhill to the sources while admiring the splendid views of the 110 M high cascades of Ouzoud with a 3-tier waterfall drop and permanent rainbow in the background. While on your hike, you will come across some local Barbary apes where you can feed them some nuts. You may choose to take a dip beneath the waterfall or enjoy a scenic boat ride along the river.

Local cafés are available next to the stream for a light lunch and to relax before you walk up to the village and meet your driver to return back to Marrakech. Your day trip to Ouzoud waterfalls will end late in the afternoon in Marrakech with a drop off at your hotel or the nearest accessible point to your riad.
